Stay Chic while Staying Warm with Luxurious Accessories from Elyse C. Bec Designs
Chicago weather isn’t for the faint of heart. Cold winter days can extend beyond one season. Mild temperatures can turn cold and blustery within an hour. And chilly breezes can cool off spring days or summer evenings.
With frequent weather changes, staying chic while staying warm can be a challenge. But you can rise above the elements in style with the luxuriously warm, absolutely gorgeous scarves and wraps of Elyse C. Bec Designs.
Chicago-based entrepreneur Elysabeth Alfano has studied in France and Italy, traveled the world, and owned a successful international art gallery in the River North arts district. Her love for scarves, art, and fashion has come together in her newest venture, Elyse C. Bec Designs.
After researching sources worldwide, Elysabeth chose to manufacture her products in Bolivia, supporting fair-trade artisans who use century-old traditions as they weave and knit precious alpaca fleece into deliciously soft, impressively warm scarves and wraps.
The designer spends two months of every year living and working here, allowing her to finesse styles at the source. To complete the cycle of creating, producing and giving back, a portion of the shop's proceeds supports organizations dedicated to the conservation of beauty, community and the environment (BEC).
Elysabeth launched her first collection in Fall 2006 with classic patterns in hounds tooth, stripes, checks, diamonds and more. She designed with colors in an amazing range, from lighter shades of cream, pink, green, and orange to the darker hues of brown, blue, green, and gray.
The 2007 Collection consists of hand-woven and hand-knitted 100% alpaca wool scarves for women and men, wraps for women, plus matching headbands and mittens. The knit scarves have a fun, trendier appeal, while the woven scarves are perfect for more classic tastes.
This Fall's color palette includes richer hues inspired by the spices, the food, and the textiles of an international market. Look for gold, eggplant, teal, and maroon.
The scarves are affordably priced, too. Retail prices range around $74-$82 for scarves and $88-$95 for wraps.
The 2007 Elyse Bec Collection arrives in stores this Fall, but can be purchased online at www.elysecbec.com.
