A True Fashion Artist with a Heart of Green
Lara Miller gives environmental awareness a designer touch by incorporating sustainable fibers into her unique collections of comfortable, body conscious pieces that translate into walking works of art. The results are fabulous garments that just beg to be worn—more than one way. Indeed, "Wear it your way" is the mantra of Lara Miller collections.
Her unique FLIP® Line offers versatility in each gorgeous piece by allowing you to wear one item several different ways. Every wrappable, drapable, reversible piece in the collection is responsive to each woman's body, each wearer's creative impulses.
Turn that classic black dress into a ready-to-wear skirt, or that elegant wrap into a hot backless tunic. We fell in love with her Valentine Cardigan for fall, which can go from the coziest cardigan coat, to an adorable belted dress, to a to-die-for shrug in the blink of an eye.
The designer’s conscience as well as her creativity is expressed in her choice of select natural fibers for her woven and knit wearables. Not only are earth-friendly fibers like hand-loomed bamboo good for the environment, they make for durable clothing that is buttery soft, supremely comfortable, and fun to wear.
While completing her degree at The Art Institute of Chicago, Lara began strutting her stuff at p.45 in Wicker Park and has since made headlines across the country, covered by the likes of the New York Times, Lucky, The Wall Street Journal, WWD and, more recently, the July 2006 issue of Good Housekeeping. Lara was also named the "Best Indie Designer" in Chicago Magazine’s August 2005 "Best Of Chicago" issue.
Lara Miller has done an amazing job fulfilling her quest to keep fashion both fun and creative. She is a genuine artist crafting garments that are true works of art… with a conscience.
Her creations can now be found in 17 retail stores across the U.S., and have made appearances in several theatrical productions.
