Germaine Caprio started Majamas in 1999 after many uncomfortable nights of tossing and turning in her painful nursing bra.

With no formal design training, Germaine came up with a prototype (designed out of tissue paper) for a comfortable top that serves as nursing bra and cute shirt in one.

Her inspiration became The Original Nursing Top.

Nordstrom became her first customer in the fall of 1999. Six years later the Majamas line, offering everything from lounge wear to evening wear, can be found in many online stores and boutiques across the country. Lucky for us, the one and only Majamas Boutique can be found right here in Oak Park.

The boutique is truly a hidden gem, tucked away on a side street in the Oak Park Arts District. Not only will you find the entire Majamas line here, you'll discover the hippest maternity and post-maternity wear, adorable baby items, jewelry crafted by top local artisans, and such sought-after personal products as Motherlove Herbals and Preggie Pops. 

Although Majamas originated with a few great pieces for nursing mothers, the store carries several stylish and versatile lines for expectant or new moms looking for smart, comfortable clothes.

The pieces are cut to flatter every figure and mix and match with ease.
