Shopping for jeans is no longer an afternoon of agony, thanks to The Blues Jean Bar. This cool, hip, and unassuming addition to Halsted's "shoppers' row" in Lincoln Park has taken the bite out of buying denim.  

With the store's dazzling selection of brands – 24 for women, 11 for men– and heightened attention to customer service, you're sure to find at least one pair of made-just-for-you, gotta have 'em dungarees. We tried on only four pairs and were nearly brought to tears by three – tears of joy, that is.

The second of four locations, Chicago’s Blues Jean Bar opened in October 2005.


Following in the footsteps of its flagship San Francisco store, the Chicago location prides itself on being consummate professionals for all things denim – including fit, style, body types, and staying on top of what’s hot and what’s not.  

This is a daunting task when it comes to designer denim, because the trends, brands, and styles change in the blink of an eye. Every member of The Blues Jean Bar staff knows everything there is to know about every pair of jeans in the store, as well as what style, cut and brand will look good on each and every body type.  

Don’t believe us? See for yourself. Belly up to the bar and tell the helpful, smiling person behind it exactly what you're looking for, right down to the rivets and stitching, if you so choose.

Then get comfy in one of the spacious dressing rooms and get ready to find your denim soul mate. The knowledgeable staff will bring you pair after pair suited to your specifications until you find the pair that's just right for you.  

Worried that this might be another one of those places where the sales person deluges you with compliments about how great you look, just to pump you up and make a sale? Not here.



Be prepared, because the BJB staff will tell you if those jeans do indeed make your butt look big, or if a certain cut is better suited to another body style that you might have mistakenly confused with your own. After all, it's their denim duty, and their reputation is on the line. If you don’t look good, they don’t look good.
